Excellent solutions for maximum safety: load securing products

Safety for people, animals and cargo is a top priority when transporting freight. LINDER GmbH is at your disposal as a reliable and competent partner for load securing. To the accessories for load safety device - briefly Lasi - belong different components. Starting with lashband, the appropriate lashband tensioning devices, bar fasteners, hooks, anti-slip mats, stowage sacks and container seals, we offer you everything you need to transport your cargo safely and accident-free to its destination.

Our products are therefore particularly aimed at export packers, stevedoring companies, etc., for whom the optimal securing of cargo in containers or vehicles is a central issue.

  • Lashing
  • Ratchet tie-downs
  • Dunnage bags
  • Container seals
  • Load buckles
  • Wire hooks
  • Anti slipping mats

Lashband, also known as lashing or lashing strap, are disposable lashing straps made of woven polyester threads. They are mainly used for export packaging or container loading. Unlike woven strapping, polyester threads are more closely woven and have two layers. The very high tensile strength is printed on the strap here. All straps are certified by Germanischer Lloyd for reasons of transport safety. Lashband is heat resistant up to 200°C.

Ratchet tie-downs secure the load on the loading area. They consist of loose end and ratchet. A distinction can be made between the short-lever ratchet and the long-lever ratchet (Ergo long-lever ratchet), whereby a higher standard tension force is achieved with the Ergo ratchet.
The end fitting of the lashing straps are double pointed hooks, which are suitable for all lashing points in the vehicle floor and on the front and side walls.
Goods are secured against slipping by means of force closure (tie-down lashing) or by positive locking. Lashing equipment must be regularly inspected for damage and replaced as soon as there is a defect in the strap, ratchet or hook. They must be marked for use, as unmarked lashing straps must not be used.

Dunnage bags are used to prevent the packages from shifting or tipping over and to pack them with a tight fit. They are inserted into gaps between pallets or above the goods in the container and filled with compressed air. You wouldn't believe the extreme loads the stowage bags can withstand. Depending on the design, the dunnage bags are reusable and are made of PP fabric.
With AAR certification, our container dunnage bags can also be used for rail transport in Canada and America. Dunnage bags are also called stowage bags, air cushion bags, container dunnage bags or dunnage bags. If you are looking for big bags, our staff will be happy to help you.

Our container seals are all certified according to ISO/PAS 17712 and comply with the regulations of the C-TRAP programme and the ISPS code. A container seal is a steel hard security seal made of hardened steel with a plastic coating. A security numbering on the bolt and the locking chamber is a matter of course. A concrete scissors is necessary for removing or opening.

Load buckles or double load buckles are solid steel belt buckles. To achieve optimum system strength, lashing straps with double load fasteners should be used. Barred fasteners are available in various designs.

Pointed hooks or double pointed hooks are suitable for all lashing points in the vehicle floor and on the front and side wall and are used to attach lashing straps for transport. They are made of steel and are protected against corrosion.

Anti-slip mats prevent the load from slipping and reduce the total pre-tensioning forces required when lashing down the goods. They are among the anti-slip materials used to secure loads. They increase the coefficient of sliding friction and help to secure the goods in such a way that the goods do not slip, fall, fall down or tip over even in the event of an emergency stop or a strong steering movement. Of course, the anti-slip mat alone does not help, but only in combination with a system of different load securing materials.
Anti-slip mats are available either cut to size or as rolls.

WHAT IS LOAD SECURING?

Why is load securing important?

Several consequences result from an inadequately secured load. Almost every day horror stories of serious truck accidents with lost cargo go through the media. In such accidents not only the transported goods and the means of transport are damaged. Other vehicles are often involved in the accidents. Injured or even fatalities are the result. In addition, the recipient of the cargo is also damaged, since the cargo is urgently expected. The Handelsgesetzbuch provides clear and unambiguous information about the consequences of inadequate securing of the load. From fine notices to prison sentences, the respective punishment depends on the specific criminal offence. Responsible for the correct securing of the cargo are the driver and the owner of the vehicle. However, the shipper also has the duty to take care of a careful securing. So in case of an accident due to lack of cargo securing, three parties have to answer for it.

Basics of optimal load securing

If the basics of load securing are followed, the cargo will reach its destination safely. First of all, care must be taken to use a suitable vehicle. The center of gravity of the load should be located in the longitudinal center plane of the respective vehicle. The lower the cargo is transported, the better. The permissible total mass and the permissible loads of the axles must under no circumstances be exceeded or undercut. The driving speed during the transport must of course be adapted to the prevailing road and traffic conditions. For the securing of the load there are several bases available, which ideally complement each other depending on the load.

In the case of a strong mould closure, the goods are transported in such a way that the entire loading space is used as much as possible. Gaps should be closed so that the loading space is completely filled. In this way the load does not slip and is secured at the same time. In addition, you can create further stability with  lashing straps . If the load is secured by frictional connection, the load is pressed to the floor by tensioning the belts. example: strong anti-slip mats increase the adhesion between the vehicle floor and the load and contribute to better fastening. Under no circumstances should the load be secured as estimated. In order to avoid dangers, a calculation can be made quickly. The optimum ratio of the securing results from the weight force, the inertia force when the state of movement and the direction of movement change, the frictional force and the securing force of the load.

Formulas for calculating the load securing

  • weight = mass * acceleration due to gravity (FG = m * g) → 1 Newton = 1 Kg * 9.81 m/s²
  • mass force = mass * acceleration (FM = m * a) → Newton = Kg * m/s²
  • friction force = sliding friction coefficient * normal force (FR = µ * FN)
  • Securing force = inertial force - frictional force (FS= m - µ)

Always the right load securing accessories at hand

Lashing belts, which can be used effectively with various load carriers such as containers or rail transport. The low weight combined with high strength makes the Lashband so attractive. With  lashing straps the force-locking method can be used excellently for securing loads, while stowing bags with the form closure method, gaps are filled and the load is held in place. Web fasteners and load securing hooks belong to lashing straps and lashing straps in order to fix them carefully. Meanwhile, anti-slip mats should be the basis of every means of transport. For container transportation, our container seals are the best choice for securing cargo. They comply with the latest ISO/PAS and have C-TPAT, so they are suitable for worldwide transport.
