Opening steel strapping should be done very carefully, as steel strapping when closed is under enormous tension. The improper opening of another tool such as pliers or side cutters is associated with increased risk of injury, as the ends of the steel strapping could jump open immediately upon opening and possibly injure the employee. This is prevented by using steel band scissors. All our steel strap cutters are equipped with an integrated holding-down function to ensure the safety of the operating personnel.
