Development from local dealer to international manufacturer. Started as a wire distributor in the 50’s, we managed to quickly become a renowned manufacturer. Always with a clear goal in mind: market leadership. Our motivation for this change was our dissatisfaction with the existing range available on the market: we wanted to provide our customers with not only a better, but above all also a consistent quality of product and advice.

Where we are today is the result of an eventful and successful history: In 1951, Walter Linder sen., company founder and whole-hearted entrepreneur, was already wired for success. When W&B Linder OHG aka “Draht Linder” began operation from the Chilehaus in the heart of Hamburg, the company started trading in wire baskets, nails and screws.

The demand for wire in various forms was rapidly becoming more specialized. This became one of the company’s foundations, and to this day is an integral part of LINDER GmbH with decades of expertise in the specialty and original preoccupation of the company.

Walter Linder senior died much too early, with today’s senior managing director Thomas Linder taking the helm in 1985. With his father’s entrepreneurial spirit, he took the newly established Draht-Linder GmbH in the right direction. As a 3-man operation, the company became more and more established in the market and continuously increased sales thanks to many satisfied customers and the right decisions – among other things the expansion of the product portfolio to steel packaging straps and the first plastic strapping bands.

In 2008, today’s managing director Patrick Linder founded his own company, which quickly made a name for itself: LINSTRAP GmbH quickly took up textile and extruded strapping bands. In 2011, the natural consequence followed: Draht Linder GmbH merged with LINSTRAP GmbH to form LINDER GmbH, led by father and son – with success! 2012 saw investment in the first of our own production machinery and since then continuous expansion and additions to our product lines. 

After 12 years at the helm of the family-owned company, Patrick Linder handed over the management of LINDER GmbH to Omar Abdo and Michele Flad on March 1, 2020. Patrick Linder remains Chairman of the LINDER Group and additionally assumes an advisory role for LINDER GmbH.
